WELCOME TO MD Human Rights
The MD Personhood Bill - HB1078 - was introduced to the MD House of Delegates on February 17th, by 20 courageous Delegates in the Maryland House of Representatives - led by Delegate Don Dwyer from Anne Arundel.

Latest News on the Personhood Amendment:
March 24, 2010 - The Personhood Bill was "defeated" in committee, and will not progress to the full House of Delegates for a vote. However, it is encouraging news that the Bill was actually voted on by the committee, only 3 Business Days after the Hearing, and it was ONLY DEFEATED BY 6 VOTES!!! The final tally was 14 to 8, with 1 member excused from the vote. This is quite a move forward from last year, when the Bill was never even brought up for a vote by the Committee Chair - Delegate Hammen. Click Here to view a list of how each committee member voted.
This is so encouraging for the Pro-Life community here in Maryland - where we are regularly ranked in the top 5 most Pro-Abortion states in the country. We are a long way from getting this on the ballot, but this is a huge step forward. We will be bringing together Pro-Life organizations from all across Maryland this summer to discuss the strategy for next year, and how we can all work together to push for equal rights for all human beings , at all stages of development.

We Need Your Help!!
• Personhood initiatives are the way to go because they establish all unborn children as "persons", therefore demanding all of the same rights as those born...including the Right to Life.
• Kristi Burton, A 20 year old home-schooled law student from Colorodo, spearheaded the recent PERSONHOOD INITIATIVE which obtained 113,000 signatures and 575.000 votes in that state. Older PRO-LIFERS told Kristi SHE COULDN'T DO IT...but SHE DID IT ANYWAY!!!
• This was in spite of NO SUPPORT from major PRO-LIFE groups and virtually no support from James Dobson of FOCUS ON THE FAMILY.
• A PERSONHOOD MD State Constitutional Amendment will be introduced by PRO-LIFE Delegate Don Dwyer in February 2009.
• We need YOU and 999 other persons to come to Annapolis, Maryland to testify at that hearing that will consider this amendment to the Maryland Constitution.
